Soo... I avoided Stargate SG-1 for a long time. Kinda like I did with Star Trek Voyager. Guess what? The same thing happened... I fell in love with it.

Stargate SG-1 (SG1 henceforth) begins right where the movie left off, and we discover that the Stargate can go to many different worlds all over the galaxy, not just to the planet Abados (Starget: The movie).

The characters all interact very very well, and you really get into the bond they forge. The dynamic of what happens is fucking awesome..

What I mean by that is I find while watching Sci-Fi shows.. I'm like.. WHAT.. wtf? That's such a writers cop-out. Stuff like this happened in Voyager when they would GLOSS over stuff that I really wanted to know as someone highly invested into the show.

In Stargate, this almost never happens. I find myself going.. "Why don't they just go and do X to solve the problem?" Sure enough, often another character suggests the same thing, and they have a good response or reasons for why they can't just do X. I love it! There was a great example when a phrases is uttered a lot in the show.. and I kept thinking.. god.. what the hell does that even mean? 3 episodes later.. Jack asks the exact same question and it lets us the viewers know, and I just about died laughing.

Anyway, I urge you to watch the movie, check out the pilot.. and then the next 3 episodes after that. If you aren't crack hooked like me.. then you're just not Sci-Fi.

-Bean out.
